Description
River red Gums or Eucalyptus camaldulensis, are among the most iconic of Australia’s eucalypts.
They are one of my favourite subjects to paint. Mainly because of their beautiful, ever changing bark and twisted shapes to their trunk and limbs, often due to harsh or varying climatic conditions.
River red gum are the most widely distributed of all the eucalypts.
They grow along rivers, creeks, waterways and flood plains, and with a good water supply can attain a height of 12-15 m in a few years
