I spent many years living in Sydney, and return there regularly.
A favourite pastime is to walk around the streets of the inner city.
The changing patterns of it’s inhabitants are obvious.
The urban areas of Sydney were one the home of the less well off, the migrants, the students and the workers.
The south European migrant influence was always very strong in these inner urban areas.
However, many of these migrants from the 1950’s and 1960’s have grown old, and their homes are being purchased by a new wave of inner city dwellers.
These new residents are removing the signs of many years of migrant habitation.
This home, and many others are still intact.
