Description
Abstract art is art that does not attempt to represent an accurate depiction of a visual reality but instead use shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its effect.
In my painting ‘River Murray Landscape – Sort Of’ ‘I have used a monoprint from my palette. I then formed it into a composition.
The title comes after. The pink shapes in the centre reminded me of an image I saw many years ago in the River Murray.
It was of defoliated trees, engulfed by flood waters. There are no water lilies in the River Murray. I hope they survived.
