This abstract painting of a sand hill actually started out as something quite different.

The paintings was not to my liking, so I started painting out the unwanted parts.  And what took form was a sand hill, with bits of foliage.

It became, an abstract painting of a sand dune, and it appears to be a long way to the top.

ANOTHER SAND DUNE PAINTING

I have also produced another painting of a sand hill called Sand boarding the Little Sahara.

Little Sahara is a dune system in the Australian state of South Australia located on Kangaroo Island in  Vivonne Bay. It is naturally occurring sand dune system roughly covering two square kilometres. The dunes vary in size with plenty of small dunes and the highest dune is approximately 70 metres above sea level.

In this painting the three people on top of the dune are about to sand-board or toboggan on the dunes down the hill.
